Building on the successful formula of the original film which showcased an impressive collection of big-name action stars of the 80s and 90s, Expendables 2 will up the testosterone levels once again by injecting new actors into the ensemble, including a couple of tough guys who have segue’d into showbiz as a second career. Added to the mix of muscle in the Expendables sequel will be former mixed-martial-arts champion Randy Couture as well as NFL veteran Terry Crews. Both actors have forayed into acting after enjoying successful first careers which, coincidence or not, both involved actual real-life hand-to-hand combat, as opposed to the make believe violence they display on screen.
Is it possible to transition from ‘caged violence’ of the ‘octagon’ to the ‘staged violence’ of the screen? Hear it from the men themselves in this clip as Couture and Crews are joined by veteran action star Dolph Lundgren at this year’s Comic-Con as they discuss the film and their new careers.
