We here at Fanhattan we’re getting pretty damn excited for the Emmys this weekend. So much so that we’ve started predicting the winners of our favorite categories. Next up for us is Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Our Winning Prediction
This is a tough one. Girls writer and star, Lena Dunham, blew us away with her heartfelt, hilarious and unabashed performances.
Melissa McCarthy is a comedic genius, plain and simple, her delivery and physical comedy remind us the likes of Carol Burnett and Chris Farley.
Zooey Deschanel is perfect as the odd ball newbie, we only wish got this lucky with our roommates.
Edie Falco is brilliant in every role she has ever played, Nurse Jackie is no exception, rather, it might be her best work to date.
SNL alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, two of our all-time favorite Baby Mama‘s, just keep getting better and better, how thats still possible is brain bending.
We have to go with our gut on this one and say Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus is taking home this Emmy. Her spot-on performance as Veep Selina Meyer was nothing short of perfect. We’re thrilled to see Julia back on TV, and even more thrilled she landed, and nailed this role.
