I have to admit that I’ve rarely been this excited for an animated film. I mean, I love a ton of them and I’m thrilled to see them, but this one has me bouncing up and down in my chair. Wreck-It Ralph is based on 8-bit video games, something near and dear to my heart. Heck, I not only played “Q*bert” on Atari, but I had the board game. I was the “Frogger” champion in my house! I can sing you all of “Pac-Man Fever.” (I promise not to.) Wreck-It Ralph features tons of beloved video game characters from that era. If we’re around the same age, I bet you squealed when the trailer hit as well.
Disney just put out a commercial that will remind any child of the 80′s of their local arcade. Yes children, we used to have to walk to the arcade with a pocket full of quarters, in our acid-washed jeans and geometric haircuts, up hill, both ways. Check out this spoof of that low-definition time and let us know what you think. Hey, they give you two free quarters on your birthday! That was just enough to get my butt handed to me for half an hour in “Asteriods.” Also, check out a brand new clip from the film below!
